i hadn't seen him since our last appointment in october. he called me the friday after gary's memorial service and we talked for quite a while. he told me how sorry he was for my loss but he also told me how much he admired gary and even though the circumstances were not the best, he was glad he got to know him.

gary used to tease dr. mink about the bare walls in his new office. he told him he was gonna buy him a nice picture for Christmas. sadly, gary didn't get that chance so i did it for him.

this is what i got...

<a href="http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y203/Ninapearl/?action=view&current=deerprint.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y203/Ninapearl/deerprint.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

found it at cabela's, it's a signed/numbered print and the framing job is beautiful, gary would approve of the oak. i took it to dr. mink today. he's an avid deer hunter and he loved it. he said he would hang it in his office and it would always remind him of gary. :)

That's gorgeous, Nina. I think Dr. Mink would remember you two without the picture, but I'm sure he will remember you every day he looks at it.

Great picture. I'm sure Dr. Mink will treasure it for years to come.

I love Cabella's. We don't have a store here but I order online. Got Mike a "Yard of Meat" for Christmas :D

Nice picture Nina! I never understood why dr.s walls are so bare. Because of the ever-declining third party reimbursements, we can't afford anything to hang on the walls. :D

Nice picture and even nicer thoughtfulness, Nina.

That was wonderful for you to do Nina. I'm sure it was really appreciated too.

Well how nice! I'd be willing to bet his walls are bare, not the least due to not working with as many folks as thoughtful as you.

Nice picture Nina! I never understood why dr.s walls are so bare.

actually, when we first started seeing dr. mink, he was in a different office. that one did have a few pictures on the walls here and there but since he moved to his new digs a few months ago, the walls have been pretty bare. every time we went there, gary said "doc, you need some ART!"

there will always be a very special place in what is left of my heart for dr. mink. he always found something good to tell us, even when the news was bleak. i couldn't let this whole experience go by without letting him know how much he means to me. :)

That was really nice of you Nina. I bet a day wont go by without him thinking about the two of you.

Very cool Nina. I think this is just another great example of how much you and Gary have truly touched everyone you have come to know, even if just for a short while. And I think it means more to Dr. Mink that you may ever know. For all the hard work the good docs do, it's not often enough that they hear a good heartfelt "thank you".
