i met melissa's mom today. they got here about 1:30 this afternoon. john and melissa fixed us a lovely dinner, we ate at 4:00. i did chores, came in and had dessert and then we played scrabble for an hour. i failed miserably but i never could spell worth a darn.
we watched a couple of hours of awesome hd t.v., a show about coral reefs. we visited and visited and visited. they just left a little while ago.
she's every bit as sweet as her daughter and she made it a point to tell me how much she wished she could have met gary. she'll make a lovely mother of the bride. IF THAT SON OF MINE EVER GETS MOVING!!!

ok here you go Nina - take that boy(just him) with you next time you go into town - tell him you need to look at something at the jewlrey store - when you get him in there start pointing at rings and saying -How nice of an engagment right that would be for Melissa.
that should get him to move along :D

good in theory but john knows i don't do jewelry. i never wear the stuff. if i took him to a jewelry store, he'd be way ahead of me.
gimme your next best shot and in the meantime, i'm chargin' up that cattle prod! ;)
Altpers0na, the last thing i wanna be is a push almost-mother-in-law. :p
Aaaagh!
Thought sure they would.
This is all leading somewhere, surely.
When they get the parents together, that's serious.

imo, all mother in laws are terrible... no avoiding it... (mine has passed and is still a pita sometimes)
besides, (i could be way off on this, as im a guy and not understanding of the female brain), if done correctly you could come off as approving and supportive rather than pushy...

THAT VERY THING happened to me once.. ONCE... All it did was (Insert Explitive) me off! Her Dad and Step Mom and I went to the mall. They walked by the jewelry store... The rest is ancient history. I wonder what she's doing these days..
Glad you had a nice time Nina..
Happy New Year!
