Put up a 200 liter AquaEl aquarium. 100 x 40 x 50 cm. It consists of just glass with support on the sides.

Is there any limit for how high the water should go. I keep it level with the support beams but would like it a few cm higher.

From the photo it is hard to tell. I would guess that any commercial aquarium would hold water to the top, however, 3-5cm from the top would insure that water doesn't splash over.

You could also contact the manufacturer of the tank:

Are you planning on a hood or canopy?

The reason I asked about the hood/canopy is that if you plan on keeping fish you'll have to insure that they don't go carpet surfing. :D

Unfortunately, I have seen the clowns jump 3-4" (10cm) easily. A mature tang if spooked could clear a lot more. You could use lighting eggcrate on the top to keep everyone in. This way light and air could pass but the fish could not. Lets face it, we don't want to loose fish and the few $ spent is worth the cost of the fish alone. :)
