A view to a kill (Holiday Hawk vs. Seasonal Squirrel)

I got very lucky and caught this comedy of errors. It is a yearling Red-Tailed Hawk and a very overfed yearling Squirrel. The "episode" lasted 15 minutes and would have made a very entertaining video. It was amazing that the squirrel knew that if he stayed close to the Hawk that he was safe and that if he ran his goose was cooked. The squirrel had a couple chances at escape but he was destined for dinner.

Glad you liked it. I am blessed with a variety of Hawks that frequent the bird feeders looking for someone that is not paying attention. It's not often one gets to watch a spectacle like that.
