jack daniels & mother in law

It's Tuesday and she got here Thursday.

I have leftover Jack Daniels from making truffles.

How much cola should I add to the JD or vice versa if I've never had it before?

What's the ratio?

I don't drink more than once every few months, but right now a crazy straw and the bottle look tempting.

Any recipes or suggestions?

While I can agree with just chugging, I'd just make myself sick, so I think I'll start slow and go 1:1 like some recipes I just found show.

Why don't I own any tequila? At least I know how to make a great margarita.... maybe that's why I don't own any tequila.

Oddly enough I just made popcorn.

Just finished a 16oz glass... I think I have new hair sprouting on my chest.

It doesn't taste nearly as bad anymore either.

that right there is a sign of trouble ;) when they start going down easy- you're gonna get all slobbbered up... drink lots of water b/f you go to bed with 2 advil :)

finished half of a 750ml bottle.... i think thats what it said, sorta a medium sized bottle, two large glasses of pepsi and jd... that started a nice spinny feeling

never had a hangover yet in 37 years, hope not to start tomorrow.

usually i can have all the margaritas i want and never had a problem, but i'm usually using good tequila too.

who knows how this will work out :)

mother in law is much more pleasant now... i think its just me though :)

apple pie and this concoction go well together.... wife hasn't even looked twice at me yet.... heh feel like a little kid drinking in front of his parents... figure i'll show her the bottle tomorrow and let her know that i need more if her mom is staying longer ;)

One to two ounces of JD, some ice, and the rest coke would be the usual formula...ditto for most things hard liquor. One shot is one ounce unless you're feeling generous. Two is considered a double.

Have a double handful of salted cashews and take a bottle of water and some aspirin to bed tonight.b

well it was a 1:1 ratio on the first one, then i poured both at once and it came out 2:1 as the jd came out faster

now, half the bottle gone and i could talk to the mother in law all night long if necessary.

I'll save the other half for tomorrow night

Still, the taste isn't great, but mixed with a nice premium cola like Sprechers Puma Cola made it so much easier to go down on the second 'glass'. Large glass at that.

I stopped drinking liqour long time ago- once in a blue moon I'll do a few shots at the club, but not very often ;) - I like to feel good not sick...

Yeah I rarely drink here at the house, in the summer while floating in The OOL well that sometimes is different ;) ... but I can definatley tell when it's starting to hit then I look at hubby and say- " I'm ready" he knows that I'm done!!! Which is a rare thing...

Ow. I would STRONGLY suggest not having sugar without salt while drinking whiskey of any stamp---and chocolate is guaranteed suicide.
When I said both aspirin and water near the bed, this is so if ya ain't vertical you can still reach it. Double ow.
If all else fails, get someone who is vertical to bring you a half and half teaspoon [mixed or not, your preference] of pure sugar and pure salt. If that stays down, chase it with water.

heh... you folks are funny

No problems this am, finished off 2/3rds of the bottle and got up at 7am with the 4 year old and started playing for the day

3 hours later now and I'm finishing cleaning up from yesterdays fiasco. Another 45 minutes and everything will be spotless.

1/3rd of the bottle left... probably won't be any good by the time she comes out next time and since I just found out she's leaving tonight, I guess I won't be needing it.

Seems a shame to throw it out... maybe I'll make more truffles. :)
