I think so far I'm doing pretty good! :D We just opened presents here, later today we'll go to my grandpa's and open a few more. So far though I got some new lens cleaning solution and tissues, a new bigger aquarium magnet, a new set of tongs for the tank (its a PITB to reach the bottom of my tank, and I broke the last set of tongs), new thermometer for the tank, new calcium test kit, and a few days ago mom gave me $20 to do whatever with - I'll probably use it to help pay for an order of stuff for the tank, or to help replace all the filters and stuff in my RO/DI. :)

:D We got back from my grandpa's earlier this afternoon. Got a couple more cool things - ever since my grandma passed away one of our presents from my grandpa is always a "sentimental" type thing. This year it was some old family pictures of each person, and a copy of the slide show my cousin's wife did for my Grandpa's 80th birthday which was this year. Also got another $20, can of nuts (its like tradition...the men always get a can of nuts), and a really cool Ansel Adams book which I LOVE.

Today was a fairly good one here at our house. The kids made out pretty good- hubby is very difficult to buy for, he gets totally ticked if we buy him pricey items :rolleyes: he says it makes him happiest to see the kids and me smile :) he's a sweetie, I think I shall keep him :D but he did get some shirts-gloves-new flannel type work coat- hoodie-and a new fog free mirror for the shower...


I got the washer/dryer just a few weeks ago and I felt that was more than enough as it was. But I did get a few things- I got some shirts- a hoodie- robe- new hair dryer-orange env cell phone-new kitchen rugs and dishcloths and such-

Well, we bought Johnny a smoker a few days before Thanksgiving (his anniversary/Christmas) and he bought us a 37" LCD tv for the bedroom (my/our anniversary/Christmas) the other day....

Then mother nature of the houses decided to curse me yesterday with a backed up sewer line....run the washer and when it drains it gurgles my toilet (which now doesn't flush proper) and drains water into the bathtub (checked the vent on the roof and it's fine)... It started right before thanksgiving in the kitchen, but it seems that all the work we did in the kitchen finally paid off and went just far enough downstream to jack with the rest of the plumbing in the house! ;)

We tried snaking it out, but the snake -well that takes some getting used to maneuvering around, so we shall call a plumber out so that he can fix my problem and hopefully make us a clean out. We have no idea where the drain lines run...

Had to call the AC/Heater guy out a couple of Saturday's ago cause I thought that my central heat was going to blow the house up. It would go out we would relight it and when it would go to kick on it would blow out enough to blow the door open. Scary stuff!!! $105 later and no problems (it was 90 just to come out on Saturday- so not bad).

All in all it was a pretty good Christmas....I got a house that's paid for- a new tv for the bedroom, a tv that doesn't show squiggly lines in 'my' living room, my health....we both have a job at least until Friday....longer if we can make payroll then...a husband and 3 dogs that love me. I get to go 'home' to OK on the 6th provided the weather cooperates for my sides Christmas! and to celebrate my grandma and grandpas 65th anniversary. What more could a person ask for?!
