HELP!! Heater broke, coral looking bad!!

I came home tonight and noticed that my rose anemone was not looking good as normal. I started looking around and a lot of my zoos had closed up as well. This is not normal. I opened up my cabinet and I smelled that horrible smell! My heater was in 2 pieces? What do i do? I turned my skimmer up so it would pull more junk out (wetter skim). Do I do a water change? Will this stress the corals out more? Water chemistry all seems as usual, 0 nitrate/nitrite and ammonia was 0. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

run huge amounts of carbon and do water changes

Thats all you can do.. Waterchanges and carbon. Unfortunately there are no tests you can buy to see if its any better.

Ok. Loaded up a canister filter with carbon and changed 40% of the water. How long until I perform another water change? Tomorrow morning to soon?
