I would like to lower my water in my tank, but I don't know how. I have a oceanic reef ready tank. Thanks for any help you can give me!!!!!!!!

What do you mean? Just dropping the level in the display tank, or lowering it into a sump?

I need to lower it about one inch in the display tank to keep it from spashing on the wood.

cant you just siphon it out?

No because the sump will fill it to the level it is at now. The sump will lower. but not the level in the tank.

You need a ball-valve to regulate the flow coming from the return pump.

Its pushing up more water then the drains can handle. Cut back the flow and you should be ok.
