I have no idea what is growing on this rock.....except some hair algae :) Does anyone know what this might be? It is sort of a rusty orange color. Thanks in advance.

little encrusting deal like siderastrea. atlantic rocks have that on it a lot(or some other similar little boulder sps)

did you get that there in Fla?

edit: if that came from the pacific, it could be one of a whole bunch of different corals and probably pretty toiugh to nail. there are only a couple to guess from in the atlantic

Wow thanks for all of the nice welcomes! I have been lurking for well.....years. Lots and lots of great info on this site!

The rock that the unidentified came on was from a store here northern Florida, so I guess it would be possible that it came from the Atlantic. Any ideas about special requirements for it. It has not really been spreading, which would be neat. Thanks!

My guess would also be siderastrea.
