The sugar could cause a bacterial bloom and fatness in your fish...

is this all though, no effect on my coral or inverts?

i wouldnt imagine any problems, people do put sugar in there tanks sometimes, and i would imagine 10 m&ms isnt goign to matter in a 60 cube.

May I ask how she managed to spill them in your sump? And into a place you cannot get them out?
There's gotta be a way to get them out of there. I wouldn't want them rotting away down there. But that's just me...

Siphon them out - use tongs or forceps - or get your kid to help with their smaller digits.
Remember: m&m's - they melt in your reef, not in your hands!
