I just changed my MH 20k with 14k so took some picks.

To reduce any algea bloom you need to reduce main light time at first and add more time slowly. This issue is seen alot in here.

Not any problem with algea, just went from 20k to 14k .

You added a new fresh bulb and you maybe fine but it could affect algea and the stock. If you start to see any change i would reduce the light and readust them to it slowly.

Yes, please dont beat me up over the powder brown, he is small at this time and went time comes he will go to a bigger home.

Nice pics

Which 20k bulb were you using first and what 14k brand did you go to? Also, how many inches away are most your SPS from the bulbs and do you get good growth? Just trying to get a general idea for when I start picking up SPS.

I had 20k ushio and have gone with the 14ks now , glad I did getting better color from the extra par. Most of my sps are 12 to 16in away and I have great growth.
