I found a good smiley face making a hand gesture for that comment . . . but I don't think the mods would approve ;)

My only crime was making a complete stop in front of a complete idiot.

J. Montgomery
12/05/2007, 11:57 AM
Yeah, I got rear ended alright.

The conversation went something like this:

Sir, do you know why I pulled your over?
"No"
Did you see that stop sign back there?
"You mean the one that I stopped at?"
You didn't stop
"Yes I did" . . .

Can I see your license and registration?
(hand the license and registration to him)
Now, Mr. Post
"It's Mr. Mauldin"
Oh, sorry . . .

(Goes to his car, comes back about 10 min later)
Are you a full time student
"Yes"
How long have you lived here?
"Since 2005"
Are you aware that you only have 90 days to change your license and registration to Virginia
"According to the DMV, I don't have to b/c I'm a student"
But you just told me you were not a student
"No I didn't"
Yes you did
"I am a full time student" . . .

Thats possible, it was only 5:30 PM. He was still pulling people over an hour later when we left to do some holiday shopping.

I was also thinking some other things, but it's probably best to not mention those. :lol2:

You should have stopped back by him when you went back out and brought some krispy kremes and coffee, he may have just forgot about the ticket then

Krispy Kreme are much too precious to be handing out to his type (plus the fact that Krispy Kreme went out of business in C'ville . . . too many granola-eating, tree-huggin' Yankees eating bagels around here to support a donut shop).

I would have thought there would be enough campus rent a cops to keep the donut businesses going  I agree it is a real waste of a fine donut to give it to them, but if it would save the trip to court, it might have been worth it :D

Josh man that stinks! Was it a hefty ticket?

J. Montgomery
12/05/2007, 02:51 PM
I haven't called to find out how much the ticket will cost. I can't imagine it's very much, but . . . in this town there's no telling.

I'm betting it is a lot more than you think, every ticket I have heard of around here has been much more than I thought was resonable.

True, the last speeding ticket I got was ~$150! I think thats the only source of income for Nelson county (just south of C'ville). Some of these people around here live with the heads up their @$$es.

the day after football games is ridiculous......every WhaHoo who spent the night in c-ville goes to Bodo's Bagels...the place remains packed most of the day.

have only been there once....a decade ago while in highschool.....came up for some partying...ended up yacking in the bathroom at Bodo's the next morning......must have been the pound of cream cheese they put on their bagels.

J. Montgomery

Bodo's doesn't even offer toasting of their bagels since they're fresh.
