10k Lighting Reflux or XM

I'm looking into getting a new bulb. I am curious what your feelings and results were from either bulbs. This is for a DE 150W. I'm looking for good amount of PAR for growth. I'm kind of interested in the Reflux 12k also.. so if anyone has any suggestions. I'm gladly appreciate it. Thanks

ive been a 10k xm fan for a while now. Love the white color...love the clolors of my corals and growth. I dont run actinics...just straight white and like it that way.

I just bought some 10k reeflux to play with and ive only had them in for a few days, but MAN if this color doesnt shift in a big way once they burn in they are FIRED.

nevermind...this point was pointless....Ill stop now.........haha. im running 250 w SE's and just noticed you are not :)

its fricken straight up PINK

ive heard that about them but also heard that that was only on older bulbs and that they fixed it. Ive also heard that on electronic ballasts like i run that thye look that way before they burn in.

I guess I just expected a tiny pink hue....not PINK lol

I am using 10k 400w XM bulb on my display tank. I am very happy with the result. However, if it is 150W DE bulb, I would recommend using the icecap 10K 150W bulb. It provides good color with fast growth for the coral in my frag tank.

I am running 10k Reeflux 175w on my tank. I am supplementing with T5 though. make sure the nipples on the inner part of the bulb are sticking up. This will have an effect on the color that the bulb produces. Mine changed color a lot as they burned in. It took about 2 weeks. I like them over the XM bulbs a lot.

10xm is a clear white imo... but if you push it over it's past it's expected life on reef tanks... they slowly turn yellow.... 10k xm is my 10k bulb of choice...
