scraping algae

there's been a decent amount of algae building up on the back wall of my tank. I'm planning on gettin back there and scrapin it all off. any chance all that algae will cause problems? should I do a partial water change right after?

It won't do any harm at all, in fact it will help feed nutrients back to the tank. This isn't a bad thing and is better than dosing phyto or any of the myriad small particle food products on the market.

I would because your not killing it by scraping it off and it will just spread
