I was just wondering if anyone has had very good luck with the Fission Nano Protein Skimmers. Also, will they fit back in the first or second chamber of a 14g biocube? My wife bought me one and I am wanting to start it off right. I currently have a 75g tank that has been my oopsie, and Oh No, not again tank...

I have/had one on my 10g. Never really was impressed by it's performance. All mine did was filled up with water and eventually did nothing. Although, the pump that it comes with makes a great nano powerhead. ;)

Good luck!

I have one in my 24 jbj and it works very well for me. It's a tight fit in the 2nd chamber though so I'm not sure if a 14g biocube has a smaller chamber or not.

If you want something inside the hood and it'll fit, I'm just not sure how much more bang for the buck you could get.

Save your money. The one I got didn't do anything but fill up with water and spew bubbles into the tank.

Does anyone have a better skimmer recommendation? I am thinking of adding a mangrove sump to it and if the skimmer is a flop i can always use the pump for the transfer pump.

I too am looking for a skimmer option for the 12 gallon aquapod. I know that sapphire makes one that can be modded to work.

Anyone know of one that will work inside of the hood and chamber?

Euroreef is designing a nano skimmer that may work, but its in testing right now and they haven't released a lot of information on it.

I, personally, have found no need for a skimmer in my 12g with weekly 10% (about) water changes.

I've been getting some nast on the top of my water now that i'm feeding my clown new pellet food. Guess I just need to tweak my overflow a little better.

I lowered my water level a few cups of water and now my chambers are a bit lower so the water is flowing so I have much less floating surface gunk :)
