yeah made by catalina, Never used one but most catalina stuff is cheap/junk

I don't think everything catalina makes is junk, but there bulb's definataly are. There t5 fixture that is 6x54 with individual reflectors somewhat like the new extreme pro nova are only 225bux with junky bulbs included. I plan on using one and puting good bulbs in it for a frag tank.

I bought the 20k version of these with my first mh setup. I've never seen such a yellow bulb.

Thats not a surprise man. The best 20k SE bulb is the radium imo. Good par and great color.

I have a 400w 15k bulb that came with my MH retro from them. The retro is good for the price, but I did not like the bulb. I felt like my corals lost color using it so I switched to a better bulb. I do think that the retro was a good buy - I've been running it for 8 months and my SPS is growing well. Are there more powerful, more efficient units, definitely. But will their lighting units do the job if you have to skimp, yes. However, I don't think the same can be said for the bulbs, at least in my experience.
