On my 12g Aquapod with 70mhi, I just noticed this morning, after a month of the tank being up, that the sun is directly hitting the tank for like 4 hours in the morning.. I just have star polyps in it right now, however they were opened and bloomed this morning from the sunlight... I have he metal halides going for 7 hours in the evening already... will this sun light create a problem as add more coral?

also what is the algae bloom ramifications?

My tank gets a little sun late in the day during the winter. I find it very beneficial as long as the temps stay in line. I wouldn't worry about algae, but if you do see it growing where the sunlight falls on it then you might put up some curtains.

no. remember, in nature it's not sunny all the time. There are more periods of shifting/varying light than we have on our tanks. Corals will open and close throughout the day and night.
