we decided to go with reefscience......our other contacts couldn't come up with anything *firm* in the time we needed. reefscience was the only one that could guarantee 20+ this time of year (apparently clams are going out of season right about now).

What size are these clams? Do they need spot fed or anything like that or are they specifically photosynthetic?

1-2"
im not planning to spot feed mine, but i can't say that is the best plan.

What do they spot feed on? Cyclopeeze?
Seriously considering trying one of these...although I think 1" is probably a little small, isn't it? I thought they had to get to 1-1/2" before they could survive on light alone...

imo if you have a large enough system and have algae on the glass, you likely will have enough algae floating around for a clam or two.

IIRC...oh, duh!!! :lol2:
Algae...wasn't aware that they filtered out the microbes that cause algae...cool...
Tentatively, throw me in for 1...so long as the Christmas budget doesn't look to bleak this year...
What kind of Maximas are they. Teardrop, 1st or Ultra ? TR or wild?
