My 14gallon Biocube

Here is my 14 gallon Biocube.
Ive added another 24 watt 50/50 bulb for a total of 3 24 watt pc's.

Things seem to be liking it so far.

Besides the clown what other fish do you have? I see the one right below it but can't make it out.

Great looking tank! Everything does look happy. I love that ric, pretty sweet setup!

In regards to that fish, it is some kind of goby. I believe it is a Hector's Goby (Amblyeleotris hectori)

That's cool, I have never even heard of a Hectors Goby.

I found this image, I haven't been able to get a good shot of him myself.

He's a sand sifter and can make a mess of things at times. But nothing seems bothered by the small sand particles, so far so good.

A little in the summer here in Phoenix. We had record heat all summer and it actually did not cool until Thanksgiving day. Up until then it was still mid to high 80's and a lot of low 90's. During the summer when it was 108-115 all summer long, I had to take a lid from a bic ball point pen (you know the clear pen lids) and prop the lid of the tank up with it. This allowed the cool air conditioning to blow down and onto the water surface. The tank would reach 80-81 around 4-5pm in the day(hottest part) other wise its been great. When I added the new light fixture it came with 2 new fans to replace the old ones with. But normal tank temp is about 79-80. I keep my house between 76-78 all year long so the tank should be A-Ok!

That is a gorgeous tank.

Are you using a nano-skimmer or anything? Is that a stock biocube except for the extra PC? Do you dose calcium or anything or just replace it with regular water changes? What do you do about evaporation?

That's an awesome tank. Makes me want to go buy one :P

No nano-skimmer or anything like that. It is pretty much a stock biocube with the exception to the extra light. I do add 2 drops of calcium every other day. I do a 1 gallon water change once a week. As far as evap goes about every other day or so I have to add a few cups of water into the tank.

Other wise I am a big believer of don't touch it you'll break it! I let things go and try very hard to not mess with the tank or even put my hands in the tank, very hard to do!! :p

I have pretty much spent a grand on this little tank already in the past 4-5 months. It would of been more, but thank goodness for a local fish store that has 4 tanks set up with nano frags for $15! And they have no clue really what frags they actually have, works out great for me!

Honestly I am not one to remember the "scientific" names of things. But I have several different types of mushrooms, ric's, yuma's and some other kinds :)

I also have lots of different types of zoa's, to many names for zoa's I really have no idea what is what for names... orange ones, yellow ones, blue ones, pink ones :p

I have a toad stool leather and some other kind of frog spawn I think, which I have a feeling is a little to big for the tank because he never really comes all the way out. I also added that big green brain coral, love that thing!

Some pom pom xenia I think and the kenya tree coral on the side has grown like three times the size it was when I got it.

I have the one hard coral in there at the top, the orange piece. I don't remember what that is called, sorry. I was a little iffy about that piece but it has actually grown and looks great!

Really am liking the little biocube, it looks great in my office. It serves its purpose to relieve my stress. I work from home and juggle several clients at a time, so it's very nice to look over and get lost looking at the tank for a few minutes, helps clear my mind!
