Ok so I want to build my auto top off for my sump, right now I have most of what I will need to do it. I want to follow Melevs instructions. Those don't seem hard, my question is how to add the relay into it. He has a link but those instructions include making it with two float switches and I will only be using one. So I need to know how to change the electrical, etc..to make it work with the one float switch. The original link is:

http://www.melevsreef.com/plumbing/auto_topoff.html

the page explaining the relay is :

http://www.aquahub.com/store/diygaquarium.html

So anyone who has done this, or has electrical experience to make sense of it, please let me know. thanks!

This will not be difficult to change over to only one float switch. Simply delete the connection between the 2 float switches, one wire from the single float switch will connect to the relay the other will get connected to one of the transformer wires. Then you will have one wire from the transformer, and one wire from the float switch connecting to the relay.
Hope this helps.

that seems easy enough..might be brave enough to try it out in next few days..so tired of lugging buckets..ha. can you buy relays at home depot or radio shack?

Radio Shack may have what you need. I don't think HD will have them, but I could be wrong.
