Just a reminder...
If you are planning on attending the Holiday Party, please drop me a note and let me know by this weekend. We need to get some kind of head count so we can make sure there is enough food.
We will also be doing a White Elephant. If interested in participating please note that in your response or email me.
All active members should have received an invitation via email with details.
For anyone interested in joining ORCA, this would be a good time to join and have a chance to mingle with fellow hobbyists.

OH! Did I mention that there will be a chocolate fountain.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Holiday event!

Thanks,
Mel

Hi All

Please forgive me for beating this horse to death...

We've gotten a very limited number of RSVP's back with confirmation of people attending.

We had originally planned for 50 ~ 60 ORCA members and guests to attend but I'm beginning to think it will be more like 30 ~ 40 at most.

This party is going to be catered with some really fine vittles. We're talking about entree's sides and awesome deserts. If... you are planning to come, please be sure to RSVP Mel as soon as possible. vp@o-r-c-a.com

I know many folks already have holiday parties lined up for the month. But please try and make this one. We're going to really have a fun time.

Thanks everyone and see you soon,

Matt

Any idea how many kids might be attending the party and what is the age of the ones who will be there? I'm considering bringing the family and possibly joining the club that night but I don't want the kids to be bored and in order to convince the boss to go, I need to convince her the kids won't be bored!

JimBob,
I am not sure how many kids will be there. Looking over the list, I don't think many, nobody has said anything in their RSVP's.
It would be great if you could come, but we understand if you can't.

Yep... looks like I'll probably have to pass up the opportunity for the holiday party and hope the January meeting works out well with my calendar and hall pass schedule :D

Hi all,
I will be joining the club at the party. Just to clarify what kind of White Elephant gift should I bring? I have heard of that but I thought it was something that used for a gag gift.

We really didn't specify a theme for the party... Because we're a reef club, it sort of makes sense that gifts might be relative to the hobby... Or it can be something fun like a game etc.

We put a cap of $25. per gift

A couple can bring (2) gifts if they want to receive two gifts.

I am sorry you thought that was a dumb question. But I have never been to one of your meetings and wanted to get it right and not look dumb. So much for that.

I didn't think you're question was dumb.... never fails on this forum to have to deal with communication issues with people.

I thought you brought up a good question and I answered you.

Relax friend.

I am sorry about taking it the wrong way. I agree it is hard to tell how someone means something if you can't see them in person.

So, is everyone dressing up or going casual? Will anyone be drinking more than beer? Just curious? =)

I'll be going dress casual :celeb2:

Not sure if I'll be bringing any hard stuff to the party. Beer is usually easier to manage around large groups of people though... Although a Pedron Margarita sounds good :)

Hey guys, sorry I've been off the forums the last couple months. I am trying my best to get there. There is another all day holiday party at my favorite restaurant(the owner is getting 15dj's and kegs), but I think I might show up late for that to make it to this for a couple/few hours. Sorry I didn't RSVP on time...will that be an issue? I hope I can still come...who's bringing the egg nog:)?

Matt,

Do you have to be a member to attend. I'd like to check it out and get all the details about joining ORCA while I'm there. Do I just show up? lol

For the poeple that are attenting this evening and planning on participating in the white elephant:
Make sure the gift is wrapped but not marked in anyway. We will be collecting them at the door so you don't have to carry them around.
See you tonight!
