Hello,

I just got a JBJ 28gallon nanocube. I now have some microbubbles in the tank. My water levels in my 2 side pump chambers are only slightly lower than the middle chambers. There is a small drop (enough to make a slight waterfall noise) from the surface skimmer to the main chamber. I also have 2 icecap fans blowing on the back area of the tank.

I have 2 potential causes of the microbubbles:

1. JBJ's protein skimmer (uses wood airstone)

2. my ice cap fans (this is a stretch)

3. the bubbles generated from the small drop in the middle chamber is escaping to the main display.

However, I'm at a loss of what it could be. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Your skimmer no doubt.
Personally I would pull the skimmer. I have gone skimmerless almost a whole year with success. You just need to keep up with the water changes.
I hate microbubbles they make the tank look dirty/ cloudy. IMO
