One part vodka, 2 parts Clamato. Probably about an tablespoon of Worcestershire per gallon and some dashes of pepper. Serve over ice garnished with celery.
Throw some lemon pepper, celery salt, and tobasco too!:D

Actually if it's made with Clamato it's a Caeser, not a Mary (that and it tastes disgusting)
For about a gallon of mix I'd start with 1g Spicy V8, add about 1/2tsp celery salt, 1 tbsp horseradish, 1 tbsb black pepper, 1 - 2 tbsp worcestershire.
I'd wouldn't add the booze until it's served. That way you can control the strength and some folks may like it with something other than Vodka. I prefer Gin myself.
Add a slice of lime, a salad pepper and a sprig of celery w/tabasco available to taste.
Drink
Proceed to start a very unproductive day.

Well it just isn't perfect without some fresh horseradish either, and the black pepper needs to be fresh ground.

Ah, bloody marys!
To add to what staceon said, celery salt to taste, a few squirts of tabasco sauce, garnish with a pickle, pickled asparagus and green olives.
But the secret ingredient to an awesome bloody mary- pickle juice! For a gallon, you'd probably use about 1/4 jar pickle juice.
Mmm mm good. ;)

Oops. Didn't know you guys posted.
And pay no attention to Bierboy saying Clamato tastes nasty- it's the only way to go! :D
Yes what does he know??;) He's a beer guy. I don't think a gallon will be enough!!:D

That stuff smells like the locker room at the YWCA.

Think what you like about that vile fluid, but the fact remains. The thread originator asked about bloody mary recipes. If you make it with that nasty stuff it becomes a bloody caeser, not a bloody mary.
dc - I know plenty about bloody marys as if you drink too many beers on Saturday night, they become a required part of watching football Sunday morning. You can rank your hangover by how many bloody marys it take to make you feel normal again. :)

This is real mean stuff!............1/3 gallon(estimate)tomato juice or V-8..........1/3 vodka......and 1/3 Frank's Hot Sauce. This is my favorite drink! Just use these proportions for any amount.......and add to ice cubes in 6-8 ounce galss. I like to add a bit of Lee@ Perrins to it.....don't stir! Have Fun!
LOL! Oh how well I know that :D Isn't that the only time you drink them??? Details, details, it's still a Bloody Mary to me, and Clamato is the only way to go.:p

IMO use vodka and v8, worchester in the mix. But keep the hot sauce, green olives, onion, celery, pepper ect... on the side if you can. Not everyone likes them the same spicy ect.... One thing I know if in my BAR not everyone like it the same ( drinks)...well guy don't care but if you cater to the ladiess which imo is the thing to do= ladies happy= guys HAPPY :D they seem picky when guys after one it's all good

I love hot spicy Mary :) but IME thres ppl who don't. IMO when making drinks it's best to leave them blan and let ppl spice them up or stiffen them up. My triple ,tabasco green olive peppered Mary or even any other drink... someone else maynot like as much but would love on a little less or maybe alittle more whatever...= they will drink a drink they like but waste one I do..they hate... get it???

Ok, I am sure I will get some slack here but....
I have to agree with the pickle juice, or even better olive juice :)
But the way I like it best is dont use vodka,,,,use a premium dark rum instead. I know, people think that sound odd. I have even had bartenders come out and ask me "are you sure you dont want vodka" and I say "If I wanted vodka, I wouldnt have ordered a rum bloody mary". I have had several people that have concerted to rum once they tried it.

If you want to start with a mix, use Major Peters.
Whatever the tomato mix is, it needs some body. V8 has it a little bit. Better yet make your own with tomato puree or crushed tomatos. Also needed is a bit of beef broth. Those little cubes are sometimes used but they are mostly salt. Celery seed or celery salt. Worchestershire and a good all purpose hot sauce like Jack's or Louisiana.
A good cheap vodka, like Gordon's. :)
A touch of olive juice, olives, fresh celery stalk, pickled brussel sprouts, black pepper, salt to taste. ;)
