Typhoon Skimmer (Noise Level)

I recently got a Typhoon Skimmer and it seems to work nice, pretty adjustable, but it seems really noisey. The pump seems alot louder than most. Is this normal? Thanks

I think it hooks onto the impellar.

When I started to get pump noise, I replaced it with a MJ1200 pump. No more noise, the Atman is now a utility pump.
