Of those two, I'd get the Euro-Reef, but there's no objective data around. ASM seems to rate more liberally than Euro-Reef. Both might be undersized for a heavily loaded FOWLR or reef tank.

I was thinking the same thing. Either way you go, ASM or Euro-Reef, you will need to bump that skimmer size up.......
OK i was wondering if i should get a bigger one then what i said. So you think the euro reef or do you recommend something else? Thnks for your help. Mike

I use a G-3 on my 125 and it is maxed out. Have you looked at Octopus skimmers yet? I personally think euro-reef are overpriced and overrated.
I have looked in to them (Octopus skimmers) but have you heard if there any good or not. Also you dont like your g-3? This is a real pain trying to figure out what skimmer to get. Some of them you spend all that money and all you here is people have to mod them up. thats crazy. Thanks mike

On the Octopus skimmer, yeah...I have heard good things. I understand it as an upgraded ASM with the recirc and gate valve mods already in place. Cast vs extruded acrylic too. I was leaning that way until I decided to go with the new reeflow 200. It is a smaller version of the monster 250. It will be over kill on my 125 but I am starting an upgrade to a 300 gal.
I actually really like my G-3. I have not done any mods and I only have to reset the riser tube after totally breaking the skimmer down for cleaning. Other wise it is completely "set it and forget it". On a 125 I would say it is at it's limit though. So for a 150 I would go with one of the larger ASM's. Actually I would get the Octopus double or triple recirc.
