A week ago I purchased a colony of paly. Not real crazy, but they caught my eye. Anyways, they came attached to a oyster shell. I assumed it was dead, encrusted shut. No, it is alive. I've tried to identify it without any results. A couple details about it. It has a dark grey, almost black shell and a pitch black mantle and internal flesh. Closed demensions are 7.5x4x2". Any idea?

I've "fed" it frozen food "juice" and a small amount of phyto. I'd like it keep it alive. If I can keep it alive, will the palys eventually kill it by suffication? Any help is appreciated.

The zoas wont bother it .But they usually never get enough food and die after 6-12 months

if the zoas start moving down yes there is a good chance they will suffocate the oyster.
