LR from established system

Hi,
I am new to this hobby and am trying to set up my first tank. It is going to be a FOWLR system. I was wondering if I get live rock which has tons of coraline growth and frags of LPS (this is from an established system), how should I go about cycling the tank without destroying the life on the rock? Can I slowly introduce small amounts of ammonia to the tank to cycle it? Thanks for you help.

No mater what you do, your tank will cycle some, even with established LR. No need to add any ammonia. I would wait a bit before adding any frags. If things go well, you won't lose much from the LR, and in a week or so, you can start adding frags. I would also get an Ammonia and Nitrate test kit so that you can check before you start adding things.
