I would suggest to put in your false percs in, they arequite hardy and i dont think anything will happen to them.

Well thats what i though but i was told that they can become territorial if they have the tank to themselves for to long.

I wouldn't put those four fish into a 20g setup. I'd just leave it at the pair of clowns, personally.

I also think the clowns may become aggressive to new tank mates in a small setup.
If you get the banggies try to get tank raised please.

true they might become a bit territorial, and yes only keep a pair in your 20g

So has your cycle ended? Yes Cycle has ended, Yes im aiming for All tank raised including the Percs, Yes Display tank is only 20g long but the fuge is 25g so therefor in all actuality i have a 45g set up.Or at least i will before the fish go into it.My Fuge is Custom and is still being made.

That is like counting a maintenance room as part of the living space for a jail and then putting 4 convicts, 2 of which are violent offenders into a 10 x 10 foot cell.

The fish you chose are small, and that is appropriate from a water quality standpoint, not so much an issue, the problem lies in the territorial behavior of the percs. There is not a lot of space for them to stake their living space, and they could potentially harass the cardinals, esp. if they become a breeding pair in time.

If you insist on getting these fish though, it is prudent to add the less aggressive non territorial ones first (cardinals), If the clowns go in first they will be more likely to be less hospitable to their new neighbors.

I have to get at least One Perc, i promised my Son (he wants Nemo) and i never break a promise to my kids. i dont have to get 2 clowns however. i was considering a Black Clown Goby in place of One of the clowns.

My clowns went in first, the were tank raised, and then my cromis, no territorial issues, they all kind of school together. From what I read, if the clowns are tank raised you won't have the territorial issues.

true true, but in a small tank change up the aquascapping if you ever decide to add somehting else, it'll make all of em readjust...and nothing will have a set territory anymore:smokin:

+1 on this. One clown, one Cardinal and a small goby would probably be a good mix for this tank as far as fish.
