I just use lamp timers plugged into a gfci power strip for now. An AC III is in my near future.

I saw some posts about Corallife timer fires as well. I went to Home Depot and got some Intermatic timers.

I use the coralife digital, and I hope they don't cause fires.
If you have some electrical know how they have wall digital timers at home depot.

I've used Coralife's for years without a single fire. Right now, I'm using two Coralife's on a FW tank, and a single Coralife on my SW tank along with an AC III and two DC-8 strips connected to it.

I use Intermec Digital Outdoor Timer with 2 Timed Receptacles HB88RC. Find at http://www.intermatic.com/?action=prod&pid=9235&did=5&cid=44&sid=116

They have battery backup and allow me to set different patterns for each of 7 days.

I use the Marineland Aquarium light timer. The timer is pluged into a surgstripe with a breaker built in work well for me, and I run three lights & a air pump on it.
PS: the air pump is for a two gal. Beta tank.
