these links have pics, its snail like on the bottom, has a tiny hard shell at the very center of its "back", tannish/brown/rust colored,

I have these in my tank too. Im curious to find out exactly what they are as well.

That picture is very blurry (did you use the Macro setting on your camera if it has one?), but it looks like it may be a Stomatella snail. Does it have a sort of half shell on its back, with a long, trailing foot? If so, that's probably what it is, and it's something beneficial for your tank (algae eater).

i know the pic is blurry.. no macro lens and unsteady hands! yes it does have a tiny shell on its back and a long trailing foot...thanks again for the quick id

I'd say Stometella as well, very nice to have in your tank. put him back in :D
