My new peppermint shrimp just molted in the bag while I am acclimating it from an extremely low salinity (1.017) to my tank's (1.025). I have been at this for 2 hours now and am thinking this will be another hour.

So now that there is a soft, vulnerable shrimp in the bag do I:

1. keep acclimating and then let him go
2. acclimate a little longer and leave him overnight

I don't want him to die because of the stress of getting put in the tank and I don't want to leave him in the bag if that would stress him. Please help!

acclimate it and release it near the rocks

It will probably hide for a while so don't get too concerned if you don't see it out the next day, just look for hiding places under the rock.

let it go ner some rocks or let it go after you turn the lights off because the fish start to slow down and mind their own business.

Scoop it into a cup. Then slowly lower it to the bottom of the tank, and let it go.

After acclimation, I usually just take the bag and pour 98% of the water into a bucket/sink (while keeping the new specimin in the bag)...this is less stressfull than "catching" it... and then pour the new specimin into the display. Turning off you light's will also reduce the stress level for your new addition...
