I'm currently treating some fish for Ick using both HypoSalinity and a Copper Treatment.

The medication is supposed to be measure 1.5 to 2.0 PPM, however after following the instructions on the box (1 teaspoon per 4 gallons of water) the copper is measuring less than 1.0 PPM.

Could the fact that there is lower salinity (currently 1.010 SG) in the tank be affecting the copper test?

Should I adjust the dosage until it reads 1.5 to 2.0 PPM or should I continue dosing at 1 teaspoon per 4 gallons?

I'm not sure, but I thought it was best if you just went with one treatment (hypo or copper) rather than both at the same time.

I tried dosing copper once to fight Ich, but I had a difficult time using the Seachem copper test kit that I bought, so now I just prefer hypo.

Using both at the same time will increase the stress on the fish. I'm not sure I'd do that. As far as the test kit goes, I'd trust the directions on the box more, assuming I had a very accurate number for the amount of water in the tank.

You should stop the copper and lower salinity to 1.009 and do some wcs.
