So I have one of those green brains (the ones that expand and get small at night) It hasn't opened at all in the last day...I added sand yesterday and did a very good cleaning so all my soft coral and such was shriveled for a while. When these things die do they stay very small? It's color is still good and everything im just worried all the stress killed it

You'll know for sure as soon as it turns all white.

If you see tissue disintegrating it's time to call in the corner. If it has color its probably okay. But chek your paramters, as well as light and flow.

For just adding a bit of sand, I don't think the brain will die. It is definitely stressed because of the addition, but I think that is about it. Give it a few days and it will come around. It will take much more than adding sand to kill a brain. They're tough to kill. Just keep an eye on the water and make sure there are no spikes

If the brain does start to turn white though, it's probably going to meet it's maker, the LFS heaven.
