Do test kits go bad over time? What are the most accurate test kits for a reef tank?

A lot of people on this board say salifert, but i'm an API fan.

Test kits will go bad after awhile. The only test kits I know of that actually post an expiration date are Salifert. There very well may be others, though.

api are great for basic testing- anything else i know becomes very expensive about $50 -$100 per kit
for really nice stuff your probably looking at about over $1000 for test kits that only last so long.
I personaly have API, salifert and hach (hach is really pro stuff)
