Hi all, I think from cleaning my tank and moving things around I had an ammonia spike and it looks like my Sail Fin tang died. I found him buried in the back of the tank behind rocks and I can't get to him.

Someone said leave it and it'll get picked on but I'm afaid it'll spike the tank.

Should I move everything and get him out or leave him?

Thanks

If you have a good skimmer working on the tank, because it's a big tank, there shouldn't be any serious problem as a result. It will break down fairly quickly and the skimmer should do the job of removing any excess nutrients that are generated. But, to be safe, don't add any livestock to the tank for a week or so until you're certain that it's totally history.

Good skimmer, lot of bristleworms, hermits, snails: these will get him.

Sorry for your loss. How about using a turkey baster to try and water blast him out?

to tell the truth I don't often find dead fish in my tank. It seems that they usually just don't show up to eat one day. :(
