I just found a new online drygoods store based out of Orlando. Their web site looks very good and the selection and prices of items are pretty good also.

www.aquariasupply.com

I haven't ordered anything yet but I will soon. Shipping has to be cheaper because it local.

Better get them to be a sponsor for reef central if you are going to promote - or - *poof* it goes away....

"Shipping has to be cheaper because it local" Yes it will be cheaper but you will have to pay state sales tax. JC

prices really aren't all that great, especially when you get into the shipping.

Uuuuummmmm....nope...not true at all.

As long as this person does not work for the establishment he is discussing, there's no problem with his post.

Hobbyists can discuss any vendor or store that they want, regardless if they are a sponsor here or not.

If you look up the SKUs it looks like its a generic pool of stock other online stores use and for about $200 a month you could have the third party that does the site sell anything for you.

Why oh why can't I have invented one of these businesses i'd be so rich by now :(

Their prices really arent that good. For example, I just bought heaters, more specifically the Jager 250watt units. Their cost $25.99 and I paid $17.99. And Tropic Marin Pro Coral cure, their cost $26.99 and I paid $18.99. In addition to costing more, you have to pay tax, where most other stores you do not because they are not within the state.

I would do a comparison against Dr Foster and Smith or Marine Depot.

Just a heads up!! :)

you check out the salt price? I can easily get salt cheaper from the LFS.

as far as a I know most of the prices are matched to marine depot...although the store hasn't opened...all the stock is from ocean blue's 2 stores.

I love their stores. And this is another nice option.

My thoughts exactly. Another resource for us to use.

I was told that anything listed on the web site you can walk into either of the two stores (Aquaria Studio or Ocean Blue) and get the mail order pricing on that item. No shipping, just sales tax.

So, for a Euro Reef Skimmer RS 80, listed at 238.00 plus Fl State tax. Compared to Marine Depot or other Mail Order, this is a pretty good deal. The tax is cheaper than freight.

I think this is a good thing for those living in the Orlando area, especially me :D

I'd still rather go into my LFS and get it there, if only for the customer service I receive, get to talk shop with the knowledgable people and look around at the corals and fish they got in recently.

I'm pretty sure that's just what he said, order online and pick it up at the store. I for one will be taking advantage of this.

Another brief reminder to those who frequent these forums and feel the need to critique or say disparaging things about "any" of ORCA's sponsors...

You don't have to agree with the prices or business practices of any of ORCA's sponsors, but please make an effort to understand and appreciate the fact that ORCA does need the involvement and participation of "ALL" our sponsors. And they "DO" read these forums.

So I'm asking nicely... please be aware and support this club and it's commitment to its sponsors.
