Either would be okay for soft corals. For higher-light animals, I'd get something else.

Current USA's outer orbit light is a good light in my opinion. I have one. The metal halide and t5 combo has proven reliable so far.

So what would be an optimal lighting system to get for a 75 gallon? Someday i would like to have clams and hard corals
