Hi,
I purchased a nano tank from some guy today that had about 20 lbs of live rock. i got a smokin deal for the tank because he just hasn't kept it up. The water was really murkey and there was alot of algea growth. I took out the rock, scrubed it down...he has some good coraline growth on the rock. So my question is can i add it to my larger tank? Can i mix the rock i have with this new rock?

thanks

I would cycle it outside the DT. Just to be certain of not transporting pest, algae, etc.

don't do it yet until the algae is gone. even if you scrub it down that won't be enough. rock should be cured before adding it to the tank, as fish need to be quarantine before adding them too. mixing live rock is good. but you have to make sure is cured first.

Thanks,
the actual plan was to use this nano as a quarantine tank for the DT. Once i get the DT established i'll set up the nano. So for now i should probably just leave the rock in the nano tank...do a water change and then let it cure?
