Do i need to add sups to my tank. I use instant ocean, with my FOWLR tank. I was using ESV B-Ionic, but ran out and my LFS doesnt have anymore, and online they want $14 just for shipping. thats the same price they are asking for it in the first place.

I have tones of coraline and mushrooms. Do i need to add anything? or will i be ok without getting more. I dont want to lose all my coraline groth.

Each time you change water, you are replacing vital elements. No need to supplement (unless you are having issues). Test for everything you supplement. Too much of anything is not good.

Ok i will keep testing and see how things work out. About a month ago,I started doing water changes once a week. I had to move my tank, and the nitrates went well over 160. I did changes three days in a row and got then down. then went to once a week. I think i will stay with that because everything i read now, tells you to do that. I still cant get the nitrates down below 20? I only feed once a day.
Maybe in time it will start to settle down some.

FOWLR doesnot need any suppliments as long as your nothaving ph problems. With mushrooms in the tank, you actually have a low light reef though... Same applies though, suppliments usually are only needed in tanks with sps/lps/clams that require calcium to live and grow. Soft corals such as mushrooms leathers and zoos do not. You doing your weekly water changes definately isnt hurting the trace elements also, keep it up!

One more question.

What about if your tank is covered in coralline algae? will it die off if i do not supplement anymore?

Only if you let the calcium and alkalinity drop. This you may still need to supplement.
