Hello,

I am starting a new 130 gal 1/4 cylinder tank and had a few live rock questions. First of all where would you suggest I order from? I have not found nice rock in my area. I am looking to use fewer large pieces rather then many smaller ones. I also want to make many caves etc. On that note which type of rock would you suggest? I was thinking Fiji.

The other question I had regards curing the rock. Can I cure the rock in my tank since its a new tank? Is this okay or will I create problems for myself by doing this? Please let me know what you think, any advice would be great!

Thanks,
Robert

Just check out the sponsers listings, most of them have nice looking lr, and if the tank is new you can def cure it in there. I did and my tank is healthy and crystal clear.

Are there any other good vendors out there that give you what you pay for? What are your thoughts on Aquacon? They seem to be at the top of every search I do, and seem to have good stuff.

I have not had live rock experience with liveaquaria.com but everything else I have gotten from them has been first rate.

Also, check with your lfs. Sometimes someone is breaking down a tank to move, and will sell their live rock, and this is the absolute best, no matter what pests come in with it: you don't have to do anything but put it straight into your tank, and it will do wonderfully.
