Seem to be lots of fish that go by that common name. Just one of the many problems with common names.

Acanthurus chirurgus is one.

Maybe others will know a more likely candidate...

nibble fish, kangal fish are some nicknames. Not sure about being suitable keeping. But, the turkish use them for medical purpose.

That doctorfish is a freshwater species ;) The fish most commonly refered to as the doctor fish in the hobby is a species of tang and therefore is not suitable for nanos.

Cleaner wrasses diet consists of the parasites it picks off of other fish, hense the name. In a closed system such as ours, there just isnt enough to sustain them. Usually there is none at all.

Doctor fish is a common name for Tangs in Germany. Attributed to the wounds that can be inflicted by the hooks at the base of the tail.

Many experts advise against keeping cleaner wrasses. Some even go so far as to say it is "unethical" because there is no way to provide for their diet in our tanks. Please do not encourage the collection of this species for the trade. Leave them be in the oceans where they provide a valuable service.

Here's one source of information:

There are tons of cool fish out there. Why not pick one which has a chance of survival in your tank?
