My tank has bin up and running for about 10 weeks and the other day I noticed that in my refugium and sump area there are hundreds of little creatures that look like rice attached to the walls. Can anybody tell me what these are.

Need a picture. Do they move? If so, they are pods. Are they fixed? I have hundreds if not thousands of spirobid worms in my sump and fuge. If you look really close you can see the coil. Harmless but annoying. Now I am getting a ton of large fan worms in my sump. Even more annoying.

Hi

These are probably copods. A picture will help produce an ID. If they are copods, they are good to have.

Hope this help

Lots of possibilities here, but could be some form of amphibod or copepod, harmless crusctaceans that are usually herbivores and detrivores and serve as a food source for some fish.

Do a Google image search on the above names and see if they look like any of the pictures.

Best wishes,
