Hi...

How much flake food would you serve up a 12 gallon nanocube with one yellowtail damsel and 4 peppermint shrimps? Size of pinch/frequency?
Thanks.

Thanks. i would get frozen Prime Reef and do One Cube a day unless there is alot of excess left then do a half a cube a day. or if you must feed flake like 1/4 teaspoon

A whole cube with one fish in a 12 gal? insta-alge!

A flake or two a day if thats all ya got. I use flake and i have never lost a fish that didnt jump. If you go frozen dont add the juice that thaws out of it, squeeze it out and toss it, it will fuel alge.

The damsel only eats tiny bits of flakes that float in the current, so the "3 minute" rule doesn't really apply. Maybe it will be more voracious with frozen stuff. It is basically on the lookout for food as long as the lights are on, but won't swallow any flake bigger than grain of sand.

I agree with the comments concerning flake food.

If you go with frozen food just put a very small piece/slice of frozen food in a fish net to thaw/rinse and feed the fish. It takes a VERY SMALL amt of food to keep one damsel alive and healthy.
