I removed all the sand and noticed and crack on the back wall glass, it looks like it was hit with sumthing on the outside due to the surface is rough so i am thinking it has been like this for a little more then a year but it dont look that great,

The crack is 1 1/8 long just a tad loger and you can feel it on the outside of the glass really good but on the insides you cant feel it at all, If you look though the glass you can see its crack at a angle, i took a few pics and put them on sounddomain so if you can check them out and let me know what you all think i should do about it thanks

IMO I would get a new tank. with the pressure from the water when full it will prob. still crack more. maybe not now but eventualy it will crack enough and break and you'll have fish and water all over the floor. I wouldn't chance it.

Need to replace it. A new one shouldn't be too much. I just purchased a new AGA 75 for $99.00 on sale. Check your local petco if you have on. They usually have a sale in November.

Yes, I would replace it with a new one. It will definitely give you peace of mind. I have spoken to people over the years whose tanks have cracked--it's NOT A GOOD THING. We had a house fire in August and I called the distributor to ask about the seams weakening due to heat on my tank. Don't mess around with your cracked tank--get a new one.

getting a new $100 tank will let you sleep a lot better at night probably.

yeah i know its driving me crazy as its on the 3rd floor next to my bed, But anyways do you all think it would be worth it to upgrade to a 90 gallon? That would probley help my nitrate problem as well right sense more water vol? Im going looking now for a cheap tank prolly aga tank this time, will update!

My 02

Replace the tank or replace the rear glass panel.

Forced replacement is always a good excuse to upgrade ;)

a 90 gal. will be nicer but prob. won't help the nitrate prob. you need to find the source of what is causeing the nitrates for that prob. to be fixed.

upgraded to 90 gallon and love it, i think the puffer loves the extra room too, but its only 4 inches but it really makes the tank look way bigger! Thanks for your all advice!!!
