View Full Version : Yellow Tang. Problem?

I dont know whats going on with my yt. It has been kinda hidding for the last day or two. I havnt seen it foraging as usual and it doesnt come out for even myisis shrimp. It has a darker area on its side(coloration) Is he on his way out? all other fish seem to bee doing fine. I have had him for about a month now and he has been doing good. params. Amm 0, Nitrates .5, Nitrites 0, ph 8.2, phos .5, temp 82, salinity 35ppt or 1.025 Any Ideas?

Yellow Tangs are wonderful test kits.
Discoloration is a usual sign of water quality dropping. With tons of macro algae I would recommend a good pruning followed by a 20-30% water change.

If the coloration becomes a red color it is an infection setting in, more than likely bacterial.

The above advise is better than medication. I am against medications and prefer natural methods to treating ailing fish.

Pristine water, nutritional foods, and a low bioload are all that a fish needs.
