Simple, A stressed fish = Ich.

What are your water parameters?
How long did it take to notice the ich?
I would recommend water changes and garlic soaked food!

You need to let the tank go without fish in it for eight weeks. when you get the next fish keep it in a quarantine tank for eight weeks also and watch it to see if it gets ich. and if it does lower your water to 1.009 sq or use copper as a treatment. once the fish and tank go eight weeks with no sign of ich. There will be none in the tank for him to get.
