Have you tested/exercised your generator lately?

Good Morning,
Just wanted to send out a reminder now that its getting to be that time of the year. Make sure your generators are functional and working properly! New gas+stabalizer, oil changed, battery good.

I went to test mine this morning and I found out the battery was dead. Good thing for a pull start, huh? Well it appears to not be working (no resistance, just spring return). Stupid cheapo gen-set. Had to jump start the POS. *sigh*

yes i have mine on a weekly cycle. Running them is one thing but you must exercise the stator as well to warm up the windings. I plug in my compresser to pull alot of amps. This is just as important as engine function and is not practiced enough by people with generaters;)

I test mine every couple of months, and put a heavy load on it (like my garage radiator style heater).

I can't wait until my next place has a NG generator for the whole house w/ automatic exercising/testing/loading and automatic transfer switch. :D
