I haven't set my tank up, but I have a 2x250 DE setup that I was going to use on a 36"x24"x20" tank. Think that's too much light? Supplementation would be with some T5's or such..actinics. Thoughts would be great, thanks.

Oh, and livestock would just be your standard mixed reef, exception being there'd be a carpet 'nem in there too.

shouldn't be a problem, just make sure to take account for heat issues..

Thanks for the input...but that said, should I align the pendants end to end or side to side?

I would even do 1 single luminarc 400 watters and put it up higher a bit. You'll save a lot on electricity.

i have a 2 x 250w se setup in my 40g tank a few years ago. man was that a lot of light!! i had them aligned end to end and there was no place in the tank that wasn't very well lit. the growth even with the xm 20k's was amazing!!! everything grew like crazy... even my electric bill. :)

I had 2x250watt on my 36x24x24, perfect for me at the time; great coverage.

I would do the 1 x 400w w/ a Magnetic ballast also.
