Ok so its been a month or so since the last workshop. When is the next 1. I know im not the only 1 wanting to do another workshop. It seems like after the last 1 with the quartine tanks no one talked about it anymore.

We just finished the calcium reactor today, what a pain in the thumb. Thanks to George I couldn't have gotten it done. The kalwasser mixer would be about the same as the calcium reactor just a few changes. I already have dimensions from Brannon on the protein skimmer. He says the dimensions should do 180 gallons so if anyone is interested in the skimmer it will be about 30 inches tall.

No takes on the refug.

Yeah missed the blood and everything!!!
It was ugly ask David.
Managed to stick my hand into the blade of an oncoming circle cutter running a mere 380rpm's in a five inch path!! Ooops, ouch and then, does it need stitches?? Only 3 and a couple steri strips.
Then there was the flying acrylic on the left thumb......lmao

it was a nice one i don't get weezey easy and this one got me close. I feel really bad it happened. On the way home I was thinking maybe I should fork out the extra money for the saw that will prevent major injuries. It futher reminds you that machines don't give a s@#$ they just work.

who ever is interested in doing the kalkwasser mixer, calcium reactor, protein skimmer needs to get with me asap. The supplier is going to their order in a day or so from a company to don't order from until they reach the min. order. So call me at 407-666-9509 I will need to get a deposit as it is a hefty min order for the tubing.

Is that day specifically devoted to skimmers? Or would we be able to build a prop tank too?

davy182
11/04/2007, 09:53 PM
I don't see why we couldn't, I would probably want to do that one on one as I don't have that much space to do a prop tank and the rest of the stuff in one day. If you want to participate with everyone that day we could probably work something out. Maybe coming early to get a head start.

Kinda new to ORCA...What's going to be involved in this workshop? Plans to build a skimmer? How big? How much does it cost? Just a little confused on the details.

The Next Workshop is Tomorrow from 11:00 Until the acrylic is gone...just kidding. At least until the projects are ready to take home. It will be at Davids House in Deltona. Contact him asap if you last minute folks want to join. 407-666-9509
The main items will be kalkwasser reactors, calcium reactors and protein skimmers. Hope to see some people there.

thanks everyone for participating, couldn't have done it without everyone. Jay24k's frag tank turned out awesome. In fact I wanted it for myself, so you might see some people interested in one. The protein skimmers I think will end up being a hit once we finished those today.

Definetly was cool. I appreciate the help. Did those yellow pieces show up color wise?

I'll post some pics of it probably tommorrow and then start a thread for the new prop tank.
