There is always a potential for a trade... probably not but there is always hope :)

Erik is correct with the statement we are going overboard for this meeting. Please tell your freinds, family and co-workers if they have any interest in the hobby to stop on out for the meeting. We really would like to boost awareness and membership within and outside the club. We hope to have a great meeting this Friday.

One more note that I haven't seen mentioned. For those persons that have not attended a meeting in the aquatics building. There is a parking lot that will be open on the hill. Which is off of Fulton Rd. I know the bridge is closed and you have to drive around the zoo to get to Fulton Rd. depending on the direction you are coming from. I just want to try and make it clear that we are NOT going to be in the education building by the main gates. If anyone has any questions as to where or how to get to the Aquatics building. You can send any of the board members an email, PM me or just post on here that you just don't know how to get there. I am confident someone will assist you.

I have not a clue how to get there. coming from akron area. so using 71north or 480west ?
don't want to be driving like a crazy trucker trying to find where to go. (i have plenty ppl tell me all week where to go.)

also how much are raffle tickets.
í assume the mo raffle will be 20 bucks for newbies ... free for the rest?

and normal raffle is?

thinsilis if you win you can donate it to me since it'll be my 1st meeting (and I could trade you for a sweet clear hydrometer?)

thanks for the info!

You can find directions at the C-SEA.org website. Here's a link to the directions page (http://c-sea.org/directions.html)

I think the raffle tickets are $1 or 6 for $5. I usually try to limit myself to $10 or $20 worth :). There is no difference for members or non-members. There is usually one dry goods item that is the members-only raffle item and everyone who is a paid member gets a ticket, there is one pulled and if it's your number you get the item. It looks like there will be more than one member raffle item in the upcoming meetings so it might be worthwhile to just spend the $20 to be a member.

The normal raffle is usually one item from each category. SPS coral, LPS coral, soft coral, invert and fish. I think i got them all there.

See you there.

What's the best way to get there once you exit Fulton Rd. coming from Downtown Cleveland? I hear that the Fulton Rd. exit is closed.

Hi, can anyone tell me the best way to get to the meeting from Rocky River with the construction on Fulton Road?
Thanks.

The bridge on Fulton Rd. is down so you have to get off i-71 at the Fulton Rd/W25th St exit then stay left to go past the Fulton road exit to the 25th st exit, turn right onto w25th, go across the bridge, immediately after the bridge take a right onto Wildlife Way follow it past the zoo entrance to Fulton Road and turn right onto Fulton. Before the bridge you will see the employee parking lot on your right where you want to pull in and park. You walk past the ranger's office and down the path to the aquatics building.

Here's a map. (http://www.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=18386041331029943960,41.453080,-81.701460%3B6206088412449938320,41.446540,-81.717940&time=&date=&ttype=&saddr=rocky+river+road,+cleveland,oh&daddr=Pearl+Rd+%4041.453080,+-81.701460+to:41.443305,-81.715965+to:Fulton+Pkwy+%4041.446540,+-81.717940&mra=dpe&mrcr=1,2&mrsp=2&sz=14&sll=41.448645,-81.704636&sspn=0.030301,0.078106&ie=UTF8&ll=41.444013,-81.717253&spn=0.030304,0.078106&z=14&om=1) Ignore the pauses, I had to put them in to make the route correct and avoid the bridge.

No problem Erik. I do try to help when I can but with 3 kids and my wife and I both working it leaves very little time. I do like to be part of the club but it is hard enough to just fit monthly meetings into the schedule.
I have to remember to drop off/pick them up for practices in Cheerleading, Dance team, Marching band, Powder puff football, Basketball and Student council. Keeps me on the go :D

If your tank isn't mature you should honestly consider offering that Acan frag for sale. You could probably get $50 or so out of it and maybe could get a frag of it later if the person who buys it is successful at growing it.

Just a suggestion.

I'm telling you there's a reason I don't gamble. my 5th raffle for $20 and I've never won a thing. And I see the same people winning every time (you know who you are). Do you guys sacrifice a chicken to the raffle gods before each meeting?

Michael,
Just be sure to bring a friend to the Christmas party and eat at least $50 worth of food each. Then you are even

It really is frustrating to not win anything for a while but once you do have the magic ticket it makes all the bad nights fade away. Just consider it a $20 frag that didn't survive and it doesn't seem so disappointing.

I plan to keep the Acan for now, I will do my best to keep it. If it begins to show signs that it is not doing well then I have an offer for someone to hold it in their frag tank for me.

The Nem has made about a half lap around my tank so far. I finally spotted him this morning along the back wall behind some rocks. So far he has made a half lap around the tank. He is a nice bright green and his tips have nice bubbles. It is either one of these two.

The BTA will likely find a place it likes and pretty much stay put. Thats been my experience. Except with new splits.

Has your tank cycled to the point of no ammonia? N03and P04 looking low/reasonable? I kept anemones for several years now, and one in a new tank (under 6mo old) would worry me a little. Not saying it can't be done, but keep a very close eye on him, and your parameters.

Idk man, I don't like the looks of a 120 dollar frag in a hair algae tank, probably not gonna make it. Let someone hold onto it for ya until you get the tank under control or sell it :)

Awesome. If you can maintain that, and a reasonable temp/ph swings you shouldn't have any problems. Don't be afraid to jerk any algae you can out. It's good nutrient export.

Also something I wish I would've picked up sooner, but didn't until seeing a lot of local setups. Don't be afraid to run your skimmer wet. I have no idea why the notion on RC is you need to run it dry, and pull black stuff. After seeing this over and over again in local tanks I gave it a try. You pull a LOT more volume it's just not as dark. Pull that gunk out with some excess water before it gets a chance to rot and turn into black sludge making your water even less clear, causing nutrients to rise, and in the end feeding the algae. Your paying to run the skimmer. Squeeze out of it what you can. Consider it a partial water change if it makes you feel better.

You do need to keep an eye on salinity over time, but cleaning the cup a few times a week is well worth the payoff IMO...

CleveYank

Saw the movie before but just running into folks new and old was worth it.

&
I won the purple tang and the zoo frag pack. Triple bonus.

Zoo Frag pack had no repeats either!!! (stuff I already have)

Glad I took the time to dip them though.
I found 6 of those nasty beige spiders that others have claimed are zoo eaters. And they didn't go without an xacto extraction either even after they got hit by the double dip.
Then, 3 aptasias as well in between had to be carefully and chemically burned away. I hope I got them all. This is the tank that has none.

But again, no repeat of colors I already have so I'm pretty darn happy with them. The green hulk ones are killer.

btw.
Hey Kevin,
Those frags open up for you?
